FPL & Broward County Hurricane Meal Kit Distributions

Working with FPL, we help seniors prepare for hurricane season by delivering three days of
shelf-stable meals, water and snacks. This June, our senior clients in Broward County

will receive these kits and be ready in case of a storm, all thanks to FPL.

About this Initiative

Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and Meals on Wheels South Florida are partnering to distribute hurricane preparedness meal kits to more than 100 seniors in Broward County in June  2024. With the start of what is anticipated to be potentially active hurricane season, this effort will help provide vital supplies to seniors in the communities FPL serves. Volunteers from FPL and Meals on Wheels South Florida  will distribute the kits to seniors in the area. The hurricane kits include three days of shelf-stable food, water and snacks for seniors who may not be able to leave their homes or receive home-delivered meals after a storm. FPL is committed to powering strong communities, making them a better place to live, work and raise a family. Since 2016, the company has worked with local community nonprofits to deliver thousands of hurricane kits to help seniors prepare for storm season. For more information on how customers can prepare, including tips, checklists and more, they can visit FPL.com/storm.
